Alberto Zanardi
Alberto Zanardi is currently a member of the Board of the Italian Parliamentary Budget Office. He is full professor in Public Finance at the University of Bologna (currently on leave). He graduated from Bocconi University and received a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of York (UK) and a Ph.D. in Public Finance from the University of Pavia. He has served as a member of the Technical Committee for the Implementation of Fiscal Federalism and of the Technical Committee for Public Finance of the Italian Ministry for the Economy and Finance. He previously spent a period of research at the US Congressional Budget Office. He has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Italian Association of Public Economics. For almost 15 years he has been the co-editor of the annual report on public finances in Italy, La Finanza Pubblica Italiana, published by Il Mulino. His main areas of research are fiscal federalism, the evaluation of public expenditure policies and tax evasion. He has published articles in numerous Italian and international in journals, such as International Tax and Public Finance, Regional Studies, Fiscal Studies, Health Policy, FinanzArchiv, International Journal of Health Care Finance & Economics, Politica economica/Journal of Economic Policy.
