Zachary Parolin  Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences and a Senior Fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Poverty and Social Policy. His research focuses on the measurement and sources of poverty and social inequality in high-income countries. His work has been published in journals such as American Sociological Review, Nature Human Behavior, Demography, The Annals of the American Academy of Social and Political Sciences, Social Forces, and more. Prior to arriving at Bocconi, He worked and studied at Columbia University, University of Antwerp, and Oxford University.

Summary

ExpPov is an ERC-funded project that aims to make major advancements in our understanding of the measurement, sources, and consequences of poverty and social inequality in high-income countries. Our four primary research focuses include (1) social policy analysis and evaluation, (2) poverty and inequality measurement, (3) understanding the sources of poverty and inequality, and (4) understanding the consequences of poverty and inequality. ExpPov is funded for 5 years through an ERC Starting Grant and led by Zachary Parolin, Associate Professor of Social Policy at Bocconi University.
