Alessandro Brioschi

Alessandro Brioschi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa and an External Research Fellow of the Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy at Bocconi University. His research examines how pre-industrial institutions governing skill formation and transmission shaped wage inequality and economic opportunity across European cities between the late medieval and early modern periods.
He completed his PhD in Economic History at Queen’s University Belfast, where he was supervised by Prof. John Turner and Dr. Arcangelo Dimico. During his PhD he was a member of the Centre for Economics, Policy and History (CEPH), an all-Ireland centre of excellence linking Queen’s University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin.
