Hunter York is an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi. His research examines how institutional structures like firms, educational systems, and labor markets shape social stratification and mobility across the life course, with implications for firm personnel practices and larger, societal inequality.
Prior to completing his sociology PhD at Princeton University, he studied both public health at the University of Washington and evolutionary biology at Harvard University, with publications across the three disciplines appearing in venues such as the American Journal of Sociology, Socius, The Lancet, Nature, and Current Biology.
