Marco Molteni

Marco Molteni is an Assistant Professor (RTT) in Economic History at the University of Turin (ESOMAS Department). He is also an External Research Fellow of the Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy at Bocconi University, and a Research Associate at the History Faculty of the University of Oxford, where he obtained his DPhil in Economic and Social History. His research combines quantitative and qualitative methods and focuses on financial history and Italian economic history. He recently received a Starting Grant from the Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (€1.09 million, 2026–2030) for the project "Financial Literacy in Historical Perspective," which examines how historical variation in financial institutions shapes contemporary financial literacy across European regions.
