Jelten Baguet

"Jelten Baguet (Ronse, Belgium, 1991) studied history at Ghent University and obtained his Ph.D. at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In his Ph.D., he studied the political elites of sixteenth-century Ghent, their claims to power, their investment patterns, as well as their relations with the local craft guilds, nobility and central state administration. Currently, Jelten is affiliated to the Dondena Centre of the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi where he, as a postdoc, is involved in an ERC-project towards social inequality and social mobility in Western Europe between 1300 and 1800. This project, SMITE, is supervised by Prof. Guido Alfani."
