He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences and serves as a Senior Fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Poverty and Social Policy. His research focuses on measuring and understanding the sources of poverty and social inequality in high‑income countries. His work has appeared in top journals including American Sociological Review, Nature Human Behavior, Demography, The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, and Social Forces.
Prior to joining Bocconi, he studied and worked at Columbia University, the University of Antwerp, and the University of Oxford.
