Aleksandra Torbica, MSc, PhD is associate professor at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University. She is President-Elect of the European Health Economics Association (EuHEA). She earned her MSc degree in Health Economics, Management, and Policy from Bocconi University, and a PhD in Economics and Management of Public Organizations from University of Parma.

At the core of Prof. Torbica's pursuits lies the intricate interplay between global health policy, health economics, and public health. Her research inquiries are driven by ambition to disentangle complexities within healthcare field, enriching our understanding of these interconnected domains. Her pioneering insights have garnered widespread recognition and numerous research grants, allowing her to lead influential projects funded by the European Commission and international donor agencies. She has co-authored over 100 papers in prestigious publication outlets, spanning health economics, health services research, and health policy. 

As Co-Editor of the Value in Health journal since 2016, she plays an instrumental role in shaping the intellectual landscape of health economics internationally. Her dedication to advancing scholarship was further evident in her role as a Special Advisor to the Chair of the Pan European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development from 2020 to 2021. This influential position, endorsed by the WHO Regional Office for Europe, underscores her commitment to addressing global health challenges. 

Aleksandra is also a member of iHEA (International Health Economics Association), ISPOR (International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research) and HSG (Health Systems Global) and serves in the Scientific Advisory Board of EHPG (European Health Policy Group).
