After completing an MSc in Physics of Complex Systems, he shifted his research focus to the epidemiology and ecology of infectious diseases. He obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Sorbonne University, where his thesis investigated the global spatio-temporal dynamics of influenza viruses. He currently works on the coupled dynamics of epidemics and human behaviour, as well as on mosquito-borne diseases. More broadly, his research spans infectious diseases ranging from respiratory to vector-borne pathogens, with a strong emphasis on methodological approaches grounded in network science, complex systems, and biostatistics.
